Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers from RAM Windows & Doors. Still unsure? Call (469) 520-7866.

Are you really the manufacturer?+

RAM designs and manufactures its own aluminum window and door systems in Texas — the Artisan and Curated collections. We also supply LaCantina and Ply Gem products where those lines fit a project.

Where are your showrooms?+

Dallas (134 Oak Lawn Ave), Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth. The Dallas team answers at (469) 520-7866 and dallas@ramind.com.

What are the Artisan and Curated collections?+

Our two manufactured collections. Artisan is our premium architectural line; Curated is the design-focused range. Both are detailed on our windows and doors pages — ask us which fits your project and budget.

Do you handle small jobs or only big projects?+

From a single replacement window to a full new-construction package. Manufacturing in Texas means custom sizes are normal work for us.

How long does manufacturing take?+

Lead times are confirmed per product at quoting — manufactured and custom items take longer than stock lines. We give you the date in writing rather than a guess.

Can you work from architect plans?+

Yes — bring the plan set or window schedule. We specify RAM systems per opening and can quote the LaCantina or Ply Gem lines where they are drawn.

What is the difference between Artisan and Curated? (Aluminum Windows)+

Both are RAM's manufactured collections — Artisan is the premium architectural line, Curated the design-led range. The right choice depends on sightlines, sizes and budget; we specify per opening and show you both.

Can you make custom sizes? (Aluminum Windows)+

Yes, routinely — manufacturing in Texas means sizes are made to order rather than chosen from a warehouse shelf. Bring the dimension that scares other suppliers.

How wide can a RAM sliding door be? (Sliding Doors)+

Multi-panel systems span very wide openings when the structure allows. Send dimensions or plans and we will specify the largest practical system — RAM manufactures, so sizes are flexible.

Do you offer pocketing sliders? (Sliding Doors)+

Between RAM's own sliding systems and the LaCantina lines we supply, most configurations are covered — stacking, pocketing and multi-track arrangements included.

Do bi-folds open the whole wall? (Bi-Fold Doors)+

Panels fold to one or both sides, opening most of the span; a daily access leaf swings normally for everyday use. Pocketing sliders open further; bi-folds win where wall pockets are impractical.

Which bi-fold brands do you supply? (Bi-Fold Doors)+

RAM supplies LaCantina bi-fold systems — the category's benchmark — alongside our manufactured range. We compare honestly which suits your opening.

How big can a pivot door be? (Pivot Doors)+

Much larger. Pivot hardware carries leaves that side hinges cannot — widths of four to five feet and heights to ten are realistic. Bring your opening's dimensions.

Can a pivot door replace my current entry? (Pivot Doors)+

Yes, frequently — where the opening can be reworked and swing clearance exists. Assessment of structure and clearance is part of quoting.

Do you make swing doors, or only sliders and bi-folds? (Swing Doors)+

Yes — swing doors are a full part of the RAM doors range, in single and French configurations, with the same glass and finish choices as our windows.

Can swing doors include sidelites and transoms? (Swing Doors)+

Both — sidelites and transoms are specified with the door unit so the whole entry is engineered and finished as one composition.
